Cooking Class! 5/13/15

We had the option to sign up for a cooking class and I'm so happy I did! It's run by the same school where we take language classes, so it's close and the people are awesome. This was the first of three I'll take while I'm here. Luisa is the chef, she has Claudio as a cooking assistant, and another guy washes the dishes while we cook so there are always clean ones for the next part.

So pretty! 

L'antipasto: crostini --- one with a mushroom paste and the other with Gorgonzola cheese, caramelized pears, and honey 

Il primo piatto: noodles with vegetable tomato sauce and arugula pesto 

Il secondo piatto: veal with artichoke hearts soaked in lemon and oil 

Il dolce: panna cotte with strawberries in sugar and balsamic vinegar

Oh I can't wait! This all looks incredible. I eat arugula almost every day and never considered pesto! Sounds so good. And strawberry balsamic? I'm drooling....
