AMES GRADUATION!!! :D

I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to go to AMES! I can't even fully express all the amazing experiences I've had, friends that have become more like family, and so much more that has happened in the last four years of my life! Not many people can say that they absolutely loved high school, but I would not go back and change anything. I'm also so excited to start this next chapter of my life at the U!! Thanks so much to everyone who supported me through these past few years, I couldn't have made it without you!

Awards Banquet 2012

2012 Senior Awards Banquet! I've been fortunate enough to be invited to this the past three years and it is so great to celebrate the accomplishments of my fellow AMESians! I'm so happy my mom and Curtis could be there with me too!

Festival of Colors 2012

We went to the Holi Festival of Colors for the first time this year and it was really fun! I was kind of disappointed with how commercial it was because I was hoping it would be closer to their religious celebration, but it was cool! 

Last Friday Night Party

One of the last parties of Senior Year!! We went up to my sister's house on trax (dressed in our 80's attire), played Just Dance on the Wii, watched movies, and stayed up most of the night!

Bad Dog Arts Photography Show

We all brought artifacts to make an altar that represented what was important to everyone!  The dog that says bad dog that everyone signed, Abi made from a stencil and spray paint!

My close to final piece! We had a box that we could do anything we wanted with as well as a board to decorate for the background. The two weeks was not quite enough time, so none of us completely finished our pieces! I made a river for the background, which will eventually have a quote on it, my pictures will be mounted so they're 3D and I will have doors on my box so the piece is interactive.

This picture just makes me laugh! Obviously Beth and I knew the picture was being taken because we're looking at the camera, but our faces are anything but "camera ready"!

I was accepted into a photography apprenticeship with Bad Dog Arts for 2 weeks this summer. A professional photographer, Bruce Hucko, came to teach us the ins and outs of photography! 3 girls, 1 mentor and 1 videographer came to Salt Lake from Las Cruces, New Mexico. Irene Oliver-Lewis was the mentor from Las Cruces. During the 2 weeks, we learned how to make better photos, improve our writing skills, edit our photos using Lightroom and Photoshop and work with many other artists to achieve a common goal. It was such an amazing experience!

When I get my CD of the photos I made I will post some!

Pods

This shows the process of demolition, painting and decorating the pods!  I decided for my senior project at AMES to do something that would improve the school and the pods were a huge mess, so I got a group together to fix them!  It didn't turn out how we had planned, but really anything was an improvement!  They'll be so much better for studying now!
